The RSPB have informed us that the webcam has now been turned off. The girls continue to be around the cathedral while they learn to fly and catch their own food.
Play and prey
At last some sunshine!! And we were treated to the 3 juveniles playing. 58 and 57 locked talons and 59 tried to join in. Then they were rewarded with some food in the form of a white dove delivered into the southwest turret for the girls to help themselves.
Awesome
7.30 pm and the light is fading but on the northeast turret there are 3 – yes I said 3 juvenile peregrines.
59 has fledged. All three were seen to fly around the cathedral along with their parents.
Wings outspread is 58 and next to her is 59. 57 is below.
2 Fledged one to go
This afternoon 58 was on the northwest turret exercising her wings and 57 on the nest turret. Then there were 2 peregrines on the nest turret so 59 was out of the nest but we didn’t see her fly!!
Pictures of Chick #57
We have lift off! Number 57!!
One of the girls has fledged early this morning. We do not know as yet which one but will update you as soon as we can.
Growing Girls
The girls are getting big now and exercising their wings a lot. One has been seen on the roof of the nest box and another in one of the turret castellations.
The camera is now covered in spider web in which many bits of nest debris have lodged. So apologies for the poor quality picture.
They should be fledging by the weekend.
