If you were wondering why the camera was yet agin not working here is the reason. The chicks were ringed tonight we have a boy 60 and girl 61. Both healthy.

The webcam will be down for a short period this evening, only for about half an hour or so.

Some whizzy bits have been done to the camera feed and it is all working now except the sound.

In the end he took one of his ready meals round from the larder it had seen better days and when he finally took it to her she was not very impressed.

The Snack arriving

After a very quiet afternoon a snack was brought in. Many thanks to Mark he keeps going halfway up the spire to reset the transmitter relay so we get colour again the RSPB  are going to have a very fit member of staff after all the extra exercise . Next year a brand new camera I think!!

Doing a proper job…sort of!!

One of the eggs has been damaged and the female has been seen eating the shell. This is not unusual amongst peregrines.

The two chicks are doing well and I think it safe now to say the other two eggs will not hatch. This is not at all unusual as both birds are. New and probably inexpensive  and one  at least is probably a young bird. This will also give our birds more chance of hopefully fledging  both chicks. Lots more pictures will follow as the season moves on. Keep watching the camera!!
