The chicks are growing and doing well. Both parents are doing a wonderful job. Yesterday they had a treat – Dad brought in a magpie for them.
Feeding 4
Note: the juvenile peregrine seen flying around the spire yesterday had a green ring but the number was not visible.
Raptor day
In brilliant sunshine we were spoilt by an array of raptors. 5 buzzards one hobby one sparrowhawk and a juvenile peregrine have all been seen around the spire today. None of them bothered our pair but it was just lovely to see. In the warm sunshine our pair just went about their business of bringing up 4 children.
RSPB Re-opens
The RSPB marquee has been restored! All systems are go including the webcam link to the television.
Well done Mark, Mollie and all the volunteers who helped.
I’m afraid Mum seems singularly unimpressed with the weather today!
Feeding time again!
Our 4 hungry chicks are being fed more often as they grow quickly and Mum and Dad are taking advantage of the good weather to find them some good fresh food. She makes sure they all get their fair share. They are beginning to look like peregrines already!!
Disaster for the RSPB Tent
While our peregrine pair continue to soldier on amidst high wind and rain, unfortunately this was not the case for the RSPB marquee in Cloisters garden. The terrible weather last night has blown down the tent and all that was in it, so, of course, they were not able to open today. Let’s hope the weather improves for tomorrow so that the clear up operation can go smoothly for Tuesday when they expect to reopen.
Needless to say it doesn’t bother our pair. Asleep on the job!!!
Wet and Windy
Fine healthy babies
Our chicks are growing! And growing more hungry by the day.
