Still only one egg

We still only have one egg.  Dad took his first turn on the nest it is obviously very new to him, he was there all of 30 seconds.

we believe some of you are having problems with the camera link, if you persist in reloading the page it will work.  We are watching 4500 miles away and it’s fine here. Good luck to Mum and Dad with the egg/s.

An egg at Last

Well done to our Mum. She has laid an egg – the first of 4 we hope. We may be a long way from Chichester but have been avidly watching the nestcam at very opportunity to see how things are progressing.

Still no eggs!!

Watching from along way away but thanks to the Web cam still able to keep you all up to date still no eggs . As the birds are different and all of their activity is normal I would say there is no need to worry at the moment . When things like this have happened on other sites…..change of one or more bird it can delay egg laying for up to one month. So no need to worry yet.

Camera problems again – solved!

We are pleased to report that it is possible to view the webcam on an iPad and iPhone with an app available from the app store. The Photon flash browser is available for iPad and iPhone for about £2.50 each. Enjoy!

Thank you to the RSPB for finding this app.

No eggs yet. Our male is trying hard!!

Camera working again

Over the last couple of days the camera hasn’t been working well but is now on line again. It is viewable on Android devices but sadly not on iPads and iPhones although if you have an iMac or MacBook you can watch on them. We have chased up the RSPB on this situation but have no answer as yet.

Our peregrine pair have been mating a lot over the past week and seeing off Kites, buzzards, sparrowhawk and a dog fight with a juvenile that came a bit too close on more than one occasion. With much thanks to our friend David for all this information. However we still have no eggs!!

Webcam.

As of today the webcam is live. The sound works along with the infrared. No peregrine in the screenshot below but it shows that you can view the webcam on you phone and other portable devices unlike previous years.

Update on our Peregrines

After a confusing several weeks when a number of males were seen around and mating with the female, we have done some research only to find that in fact the male and female are new birds.  It would of course be unusual to say the least if it was the same female that back in 2001 had the first ringed brood.  She would have to be about 17 years old by now if that were the case (which is very unlikely in the wild).  It is likely that the female changed a couple of years ago and we did not notice.

Anyway we are fairly sure she will stay with the current male for this season as she seems quite settled and is enjoying his company – not surprised – he is a very smart peregrine.

News on the camera – we hope it will go live by the end of this week – there has been a bit of a holdup in updating it.
