Mum and Dad still both around a lot and the young female is still coming in to roost…..this is Dad…..Looking very fine….!!

Both birds in residence today and the juveniles have been seen and heard over the last week but we did not spot them this pm…..pictures Mum and Dad….!!

Taken on Wednesday this will be our last day watching the Peregrines for a while they are ranging further and further away from the Cathedral they were flying very high and playing over Priory Park, East and West Street.Now with the Scafolding getting quite high they will soon be on there way to find there own territories…..Dad will look after the roost…..!!

The webcams are now turned off and will return in the spring of 2023 both young birds are doing well learning fast and flying beautifully….through out the year I will keep you all informed as best I can as to how our family of peregrines are doing with pictures and updates via Facebook and the blog….and of course Janet’s news letter which has become so popular and is so very informative. Thank you all for watching and don’t see it as the end but just the very beginning…..!!

Chichester Peregrines camera turned off….!!

The young ones are doing well taking food from parents in the air sometimes without dropping it……catching food that the parents drop…..not quite got the hang of that…..chasing pigeons around the Cathedral with very little chance of catching them…..but we are learning how to stoop as we play with the pigeons…..!!

Viewing days are over for this season at the Cathedral but the young birds will still be around for the next month or so before they go off to find their own territories. If you are around the city and hear a lot of noise look up above it could well be the young Peregrines in the sky playing tag.The project had over 5,500 people visiting in a 3 week period and was a great success. Pictures will continue to be posted through out the year …..just at a slightly slower pace than of late…..Thanks to all our volunteers for their amazing support and work and to all of you for your continued support….!!!

Mum for a change….. last day of open days tomorrow ….the young ones will still be around for another month….pop down and see us on the south west lawn of the Cathedral tomorrow….!!

In the End possibly the best day for action so far slow at first but a brilliant late flourish……two more open days until we finish….so come on down see the birds and meet the team…..!!!
